1. Who we are
Mission to Magic is a free weekly newsletter and blog about Disney and Universal theme parks, published by Raffaele Troiano. Our website is missiontomagic.com and you can contact us at hello@missiontomagic.com.
2. What data we collect and why
Name and email address When you subscribe to Mission to Magic, we collect your first name, last name, and email address. We use your name to personalize the newsletter and address you directly in our communications. We use your email address exclusively to send you our weekly newsletter. We will never sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party.
Newsletter engagement data We track whether you open our emails and which links you click inside them. This helps us understand what content resonates with our readers and improve the quality of the newsletter. This tracking is done via Ghost's built-in analytics system.
Member acquisition source We record how you found Mission to Magic — for example, whether you arrived via a social media post or a direct link. This helps us understand which channels are most effective.
Outbound link tagging Links in our newsletter and website may include UTM parameters, which allow destination websites to see that traffic came from Mission to Magic. We do not collect any data from the destination websites.
Website analytics We use privacy-first, cookie-free web analytics to understand general traffic patterns on missiontomagic.com. No personally identifiable information is collected through website analytics, and no tracking cookies are placed on your device.
3. How we send emails
Our newsletter is sent via Mailgun (a Sinch company), a third-party email delivery service. Your email address is processed by Mailgun solely for the purpose of delivering our newsletter. Mailgun operates under its own privacy policy available at mailgun.com/privacy-policy.
Our website and member database are hosted on Ghost CMS, deployed via Railway (railway.app). Ghost stores your email address and engagement data securely.
4. Social media
We maintain a presence on Facebook and Instagram. If you interact with our social media pages, the respective platform's privacy policy applies. We do not share your newsletter subscription data with social media platforms.
Our social media posts are published via Make.com (formerly Integromat), which processes only public content and does not have access to subscriber data.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Union or European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):
Right to access — You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Right to rectification — You can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Right to erasure — You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
Right to unsubscribe — Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link. Clicking it removes you from our list immediately and permanently.
Right to object — You can object to the processing of your data at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@missiontomagic.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Our legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you subscribed to the newsletter.
6. Data retention
We retain your email address and engagement data for as long as you remain subscribed to Mission to Magic. When you unsubscribe, your data is deleted from our active subscriber list. You may also request complete deletion by emailing hello@missiontomagic.com.
7. Cookies
Mission to Magic does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. Our website analytics are cookie-free. Ghost may set a single technical session cookie if you sign into your subscriber account, which is deleted when you close your browser.
8. Children's privacy
Mission to Magic is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has subscribed without appropriate consent, please contact us and we will delete the data immediately.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be communicated via the newsletter.
