A dispatch from someone who never stopped believing in the magic
Hi, I'm Raffaele. Italian by origin, American by choice, theme park obsessive by nature.
I grew up in Italy sneaking glimpses of Disneyland Paris brochures and dreaming of the day I'd walk under that train station arch for the first time. Years later, I moved to the United States — and I've never quite recovered from the experience of standing in front of Cinderella Castle for the first time.
These parks aren't just entertainment to me. They're a craft — decades of storytelling, design obsession, and sheer human imagination compressed into a square mile. The more you know, the more there is to see. And I want to help you see it.
What you'll find every week
Mission to Magic is a free weekly newsletter covering Disney and Universal theme parks. Every issue includes a news roundup of what's actually happening at the parks, a deep dive on one topic worth exploring properly, a Did You Know fact you'll want to tell someone about, and practical insider tips that make your visit better.
Not a fan account. Not PR. Just a real perspective.
There's no shortage of theme park content out there. What's harder to find is someone who tells you the truth — who'll say when a new attraction doesn't quite deliver, when a ticket price isn't worth it, or when the real gem is an overlooked corner of a park that everyone walks past.
I also bring something a little different: a European perspective on American parks, and an insider's knowledge of American parks for a European audience. Growing up with Disneyland Paris as my reference point changes how you see Walt Disney World. Living in the US changes how you see everything else.
We cover Disney and Universal worldwide — Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai, Epic Universe, and everything in between.
